Safer Care Victoria has established an independent panel to review the chiropractic practice of spinal manipulation on children under 12.
Our public consultation has now closed. We received a large number of submissions from around the country from the both the public and practitioners. We will report publicly on our findings and recommendations by the end of the year.
The panel includes experts in paediatrics and musculoskeletal care, consumers, and representatives from the Chiropractic Board of Australia and Australian Chiropractors Association.
The panel will:
- examine and assess the available evidence, including information from consumers, providers, and other stakeholders, for the use of spinal manipulation by chiropractors on children less than 12 years of age
- provide recommendations regarding this practice to the Victorian Minister for Health.
